Georgina Chapman forgets Harvey Weinstein & dates actor Adrian Brody

The news has settled in that disgraced former Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein was found guilty last week of rape in the third degree and a criminal sex act in the first degree. The charges stemmed from allegations from several women, some of them actresses, of sexual assault years ago.

Weinstein’s time in court is not over yet. There was an automatic appeal after the verdict, which is standard, but Weinstein will also face additional rape charges in California. He’s currently at Rikers Island awaiting the next steps in his case, including sentencing.

Now Weinstein’s ex-wife is speaking out about her abject “disgust” at his actions.

People writes that Georgina Chapman, a co-founder of the Marchesa fashion label, was thoroughly unnerved when she first found out about the allegations against Weinstein.

A source told People that Chapman “was shocked and livid when she learned about all of this and especially when it went public. It was humiliating.”

People further writes that Chapman was utterly disgusted at his actions, with a source divulging that: “to say that Harvey disgusts her is an understatement.”

But she’s found a way to move on, at least for now. People is also reporting that Chapman is now dating actor Adrian Brody. That news came as Weinstein’s verdict was sweeping the nation.

This would be her first relationship since her divorce from Weinstein. The move seems to be doing her some good.

“Adrien is smitten and Georgina is the happiest she’s been in ages. She has had a horrid past couple of years, and finally feels ready to move on with her life. Her kids and family are all aware, and everyone whole-heartedly approves,” the source said, clearly elated.

“It diverts her attention from the pain and embarrassment of her situation and subsequent split,” said a source.

Chapman was apparently blindsided when the news first broke about Weinstein’s crimes.“She didn’t know about this side of him, and of course it has devastated her. She worries about the children.”

At the same time, the source says that Chapman is still grateful to have her kids with her.

“Despite what she has been through, she has a high-profile career and two children that have greatly enriched her life. She has always been busy with her own career, yet, still has made the kids a great and loving home.”

Weinstein and Chapman reached a divorce settlement in January, 2018. Weinstein was ordered to pay Chapman somewhere between $15 million and $20 million in the settlement.

Chapman also has custody of their two kids, who are ages 6 and 9. All of that sounds good, but Chapman is also concerned about when the kids get older and they find out all these things about their dad. Chapman says she’s concerned with what the whole ordeal “will do to their lives now and later.”
