Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalithaa hospitalised

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai on Thursday night after she complained of “fever and dehydration”.

The 68-year-old All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam chief was taken to Apollo Hospitals where her condition is stated to be stable now, the hospital’s Chief Operating Officer Subbiah Viswanathan said, adding she is under observation.

“The honourable chief minister of Tamil Nadu was admitted to Apollo Hospitals, Chennai with fever and dehydration,” he said in a release circulated to media by the state government.

“The honourable madam is stable and under observation,” Viswanathan said.
